MoleHill is a Carolina’s based publishing group dedicated to creating & selling calendars for charity. Rodger from MoleHill approached us about creating a website that would showcase their upcoming calendars and allow people to pre-order/order. During production we also added an area where MoleHill can post a “Behind the Scenes” look at creating the calendars. Lastly we added in a generic Contact Form, a Partner’s Link (to showcase other who gave their time or support in creating the calendars) and general About information. Because their organization works to benefit charities, such as the Breast Cancer Research Foundation; we reduced our pricing by 75%!! The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a particularly special charity for BakaDev owner, Travis Wilson, and as such felt this would be a great way to give to the charity.

Cindy Holiday is a model in the Charlotte, NC area. Cindy requested a website that would allow her to display her work and photography. The layout we chose allows Cindy to display a thumbnail of her work with a lightbox feature to open the images in full screen. She also had a set of icons she wanted to use for social networks but was unable to find matching icons for Deviant Art and Model Mayhem. BakaDev was able to create 2 new icons in the same style to match her iconset. We also created the logo to match her background design.

Contracted to create a new design & layout for the annual Pageland Watermelon Festival event website. Built as a content management system for easy updating by internal staff. Some features include an image slider on the homepage, online registration forms, gallery, and a blog.

Justin Kates is a Charlotte photographer specializing in alternative and artistic photography. When I met Justin he had a website but was unhappy with the layout and functionality. After some consulting and trial & error we decided upon a final layout.

This layout allows Justin to display a thumbnail of his work with a lightbox feature to open the images in full screen. A slider on the homepage rolls through several images previewing random works. And finally a contact form with alternative means of communication.

The website is currently live but frequently updated and more work planned to expand the written content with services and pricing.

Off-Line The Movie was currently in pre-production with very little information available to the public. Forever Young Productions requested a website that would generate interest and allow them to run contests for people. The contests require people to submit contact and personal information along with a headshot – the second contest requires people to submit contact and personal information along with a document and or images for story-lines. All requests were completed.

BakaDev is also in charge of Forever Young Productions hosting and domain management. Thanks to our expertise we have saved them a considerable amount by consolidating hosting accounts and setting up domain subs and aliases.

C.L. Hartley is an author who primarily sells novels online through Amazon – BakaDev was commissioned to create a website that would highlight the current novels for sale as well as past books, along with links to purchase.

A slider on the homepage rotates through the most current book for sale. The book listing has a special mouse-over feature to allow the user to see both the front and upon mouse-over the back of the book.

A web2.0 update to Cajun Canvas. The following is a working draft designed for the 2.0 update for Cajun Canvas. All of the same features apply but several have now been approved upon such as contact form and newsletter validation and error information. Mouse-over images on the calendar has been dramatically improved upon as well.

Contracted to create a new design and layout for current Pageland Chamber of Commerce website. Requests were to make the website easy to navigate for users and the ability to easily update the site with little to no HTML or coding experience.

Website Engine
Because the person maintaining the website had no prior experience in website coding it was decided that the Chamber site would run on some kind of Content Management System. WordPress – althought a blog cms – is one of the easiest to use CMS for a user of any level. Therefore the website was developed with a WordPress engine to make updating the site easy for all staff.

Design & Display
Pageland wanted to achieve a more community active website with current events listings and articles of business and news. With this in mind the frontpage was designed so they could display a carousel of articles at the top, then 3 blocks of static categories, and lastly events & calendar.

Add-ons
Calendar – used a calendar add-on from the WordPress exchange. Gives them the ability to create new events and have them automatically display within the site on the front page and large calendar.
Business Directory – because the Chamber is made up of so many local businesses they needed a feature to display members with contact info. Using a Business Directory from the exchange I edited the core process to display only the most basic info and allow for new fields not previously available.
Weather Add-On – using an API, included a weather widget on the frontpage.
